Information You Submit
Search Terms
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted to the independent provider operating that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
When you send an email or contact message, we retain it as needed to respond. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Automatic Technical Data
A page visit may generate routine logs containing:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring website, when supplied; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. You may block them through browser settings, although doing so can change how some features work.
Purposes for Using Data
- Operate the site and maintain performance.
- Send a search request to the selected partner service.
- Understand which Citrus County resources readers use.
- Diagnose and repair technical problems.
- Present advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.
External Sites and Advertising
Links may lead to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, CoreCivic, the Clerk, the Florida Department of Corrections, other government portals, or third-party tools. Once you leave, that destination’s privacy terms control.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted ads. That tracking occurs on their systems, not ours.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be handled by:
- search partners processing a submitted query;
- analytics providers measuring site use;
- advertising networks delivering ads; and
- law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.
Security Practices
We use reasonable, commonly accepted safeguards. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Use the Contact Us page to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Send the request through Contact Us. Florida public records held by government agencies are separately governed by Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, and are not controlled by this private site.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this notice as practices or services change. An updated version takes effect when posted here with its new effective date.
